It’s becoming increasingly hard to find undeveloped land in the Houston area. Even the best available sites can have challenges, such as topography that needs rebalancing to bring it back to a more consistent elevation. “We like to find these sites and just pour ourselves into the due diligence,” shared Cody Adamek.
In October 2021, after five-and-a-half years at JLL, Adamek joined Constellation Real Estate Partners, where he focuses on planning and due diligence for land pursuits throughout Texas. He is responsible for the most complex and often overlooked sites.
“Cody is an outstanding leader who has shown an ability to effectively lead projects and people,” said former oil and gas executive Glenn Powell, Adamek’s mentor. “People are drawn to him because he invests in them, cares about them and allows them to be part of the work he leads.”
Adamek recently worked with the city of Houston, third-party consultants, and design and construction teams on a southwest Houston site facing rising construction costs and complicated civil design requirements. Constellation acquired the nearly 33- acre location for the development of two industrial buildings.
Working Smarter
Adamek grew up on a farm in northeast Texas, and his entire
life has revolved around being outdoors, working hard and see- ing the fruits of his labor. “I enjoy seeing my hard labor result in a tangible asset like a large industrial building,” he commented.
With an MBA from the University of Houston, Adamek created and implemented data management, controls and workflows from early-stage planning and budgeting through execution and closeout of each development. “With efficient workflows, you’re not spinning your wheels. You’re delivering a project as quickly as possible—one that’s going to generate revenue for the company.”
